Finding Your Way
This painting was inspired by an aerial view of a railway station. The division of the railway compounding over and over again fascinates me and the image was so striking, I was drawn to painting it. The lines are all hand drawn, and the thread work was all done by hand. In Arkansas, where I grew up, there is a lot of bright red dirt. (sometimes called Indian clay) I remember the bright red roads we would drive down. A gash in the ground looked as if the earth was bleeding. For this piece, I used my memory of the bright red earth to give sharp contrast to the sourrounding landscape.
